ALMOST FLOYD accurately recreates the sounds and tones of Pink Floyd, one of the greatest bands to ever perform. We cover decades of treasured material composed by the original band performing hits and gems from Dark Side of the Moon... Wish You Were Here... Animals... The Wall... The Final Cut... Momentary Lapse of Reason... and The Division Bell.
Anthony (Tony) Martino: Lead vocal, second guitar, and lap steel, Tony discovered the music of Pink Floyd at a very early age and vowed one day to bring it back to the audiences. Tony brings a remarkable vocalization and stage presence that many cannot compete with. Over the years he has collaborated with various other musicians and has also stepped up to perform and record on a friends solo album that was released with great success.
Rob McCann: The lead guitarist for Almost Floyd, takes on the difficult task of bringing to life the amazing solos, musical perfections, and creativity of the incredible David Gilmour. When putting together the project in 2019, he set out specifically to study the style and tones ambitiously working to craft the skills required to respectfully recreate the music of one of the best guitarists known to the world. According to Rob, it was “One of the more difficult tasks he had ever assigned himself.” He is excited to bring the re-creation of this timeless music to the stage.
Joel Pirard: Joel brings to life the haunting keyboards in Almost Floyd matching the tone distinctly to what an audience would hear if they were listening to the actual band Pink Floyd. Joel is a multi talented musician, proficient in guitar, bass and keyboards. As founding member of the JDA Project, he has written, recorded and released four studio albums and two live CD’s. Besides bringing true tribute to Richard Wright, Joel is known for his amazing ability in vocal harmonization.
Jason Petrolle: Drummer and time keeper, Jason has been playing in cover bands in the New York area for over thirty years. Given his love for the Music of Pink Floyd, when the opportunity to audition for Almost Floyd arose, he felt the synergy was evident and was honored to be selected. Jason feels much the same as his band mates in that the personalities and their commitment to quality makes the band one of the best sounding Pink Floyd tribute bands around.
Al Archibald: The driving bass of Almost Floyd, Al Archibald’s spot on contribution to the rhythm section is second to none. Al has been performing the better part of 50 years. Previously, Al was writing and recording very melodic original pieces with a successful band before joining up with Almost Floyd. Get ready to feel the heart pounding bass riffs you have come to know!!!
Doreen Munkelt: As backing vocalist/vocalist, Doreen brings decades of experience to the stage. Starting out at a very young age and later collaborating professionally with her husband Greg Munkelt, who is also a member of Almost Floyd, Doreen brings a whole new level to the bands vocalization and harmonies. Influenced by Linda Ronstadt, Bonnie Raitt, and Valerie Carter, Doreen has fronted several great bands over the past several decades before finding a home with Almost Floyd. On every performance, Doreen takes on the near impossible vocals of Clare Torrey on The Great Gig In The Sky leaving audiences wowed and often crying at the beauty of the arrangement.
Greg Munkelt: Saxophonist for Almost Floyd. Greg also started at an early age mastering his instrument. Having received a music scholarship in his youth, Greg was inspired to be the best at what he does which led him to study with pro saxophonist Alex Silver from Brooklyn NY. Each performance, Greg enjoys the challenge of recreating the hauntingly intricate sax licks of Pink Floyd’s music delivering an authentic sound that so many fans have come to love.

The marketing strategies we use include some or all of the following:

- Paid Facebook Advertising targeting fans within a 45 mile radius of the venue's location
- Printed event posters
- Radio advertising promoting the upcoming show and venue information
- AlmostFloyd.com website
We develop a marketing plan for every show that is based on a number of factors including: the venue size, the type of venue, the potential audience size, whether the show is ticketed or not and the venue's willingness to co-promote or partner on marketing efforts. The marketing plan we develop for a given show dictates which strategies get used to promote an upcoming show.
